As a AI/ML Research Engineer focusing in Causal Machine Learning we’d like you to be able to:

  • Lead, design and implement novel scientific approaches to leveraging high-dimensional biological data sets to build predictive models for precision oncology
  • Provide first-class machine learning input to programs/projects; be a key contributor to the planning and direction of a project, and effectively prioritize goals
  • Provide domain expertise and mentor more junior scientists

Required

  • A higher degree in computer science, data science, applied math, physics, systems biology, or bioinformatics
  • 5+ years experience in development of interpretable machine learning, preferably with exposure to functional genomics or molecular and cellular biology
  • Expert understanding of a programming language such as Python
  • Past experience in building deep learning models with at least one Deep Learning framework such as TensorFlow, Keras or PyTorch
  • Application and understanding of best practices in software engineering, training and operating algorithms at scale

Imaging Algorithms Team Leader

DESCRIPTION

At Sight Diagnostics, we aim to improve health through fast and accurate diagnostic testing. We have successfully built our Sight OLO device which performs complete blood count (CBC) based on our own scanning hardware, computer vision and machine learning algorithms. We are now building on our vast experience to extend our capabilities to new and exciting sample types and clinical conditions.

The Team Leader will be part of the Algorithm R&D group and will report to the VP of Algorithms.

In your role as Imaging Algorithms Team Leader, you will:

  • Manage a team of Algorithm Developers and R&D Engineers, and perform hands-on work as needed
  • Lead the company's research and development involved with the controlling and monitoring of the imaging module as it images various types of samples
  • Take ownership for all algorithmic aspects of the imaging module: optical, adjustment and calibration, image acquisition process, and optical image quality assurance and control
  • Use machine learning / computer vision algorithms, perform data analyses of algorithm results, design data collections and experiments, and lead the development of optical metrics that reflect the quality and stability of the imaging system
  • Be responsible for planning and executing R&D projects from the requirement stage to their proof of concepts to the verification and validation, ending in product implementation
  • Assist in analyzing experiments, including the imaging aspects of clinical trials, and in technical write-ups related to regulatory submissions and requirements
  • Be responsible for guiding team-members in their ongoing work, define and prioritize tasks, and mentor their continual professional development
  • Manage external subcontractors utilized in the development work
