Border Team Mission

At Algolight, we are building the next generation of autonomous, multi-sensor AI systems designed to operate in real, operational environments — not just in theory. Our work spans from raw sensor data to high-confidence triage, reasoning, and autonomous decision-making, enabling scalable, robust, and intelligent systems that reduce cognitive load on operators and help drive safer, more effective national operations.

As part of a national effort to modernize border operations, you will be a core technical force — helping define, design, implement, and scale AI-driven architectures that tie together data, models, agents, and operational systems.

🚀 What You’ll Be Responsible For

Data Ingestion & Pipelines

• Build high-throughput, fault-tolerant ingestion pipelines for heterogeneous sensor sources:
  video streams, radar tracks, event streams, telemetry, logs.
• Handle real-time and batch data flows under strict latency and reliability constraints.

Data Modeling & Governance

• Design and maintain data schemas, metadata, and storage layouts supporting AI pipelines.
• Ensure data traceability, reproducibility, and auditability.

Operational Data Platforms

• Implement and maintain data lakes, vector databases, and streaming systems.
• Support both online inference pipelines and offline training workflows.

AI & Agent Integration (Hands-On)

• Integrate data pipelines with perception, fusion, and agentic AI components.
• Support LLM-based systems by providing reliable, well-structured context data.

Deployment & Reliability

• Deploy data services into edge, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
• Monitor performance, detect failures, and improve system robustness.
• Support shadow-mode deployments and operational trials.

🎯 What We Are Looking For

Required Experience

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or backend engineering roles.
• Strong experience building data pipelines in production environments.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and async processing.
• Comfortable working close to real-time systems.

Technical Strengths

• Data engineering: SQL/NoSQL, streaming frameworks, schema design.
• Backend systems: APIs, message brokers, async workflows.
• Practical experience integrating data with AI/ML systems.
• Monitoring, logging, and observability in production.
