Data Science Lead (Senior)

Equinom is a food-tech company developing data-driven solutions for ingredient and crop functionality, working with complex, real-world production data at the intersection of data science and biology.

We are looking for a senior, hands-on Data Science Lead with 8–10+ years of experience to lead a small, high-quality team and own end-to-end machine learning work in production.

This role is intended for experienced data scientists who are ready to combine deep technical ownership with light but meaningful people leadership.

What you’ll do

Lead and mentor a small team of data scientists (hands-on leadership)

Take ownership of end-to-end ML workflows: problem definition, data exploration, modeling, and production deployment

Work primarily with complex, real-world, mostly tabular data

Build and maintain production-grade machine learning models

Collaborate closely with Product, R&D, and engineering teams

Continuously improve methodologies and data-driven decision making

What we’re looking for

8–10+ years of experience in data science / machine learning

Strong hands-on background in Python and common ML libraries

Experience working with real-world, imperfect data and production systems

Solid statistical and analytical foundations

Some prior experience leading, mentoring, or guiding other data scientists

Comfortable balancing technical depth with team responsibility

This role is a strong fit for senior practitioners who want to stay close to the data, lead a small team by example, and work on real problems — not a pure research role and not a large-scale people management position.
