Head of AI & Magnetic Signal Processing Team

At Algolight, we live and breathe the future of artificial intelligence and the physical world.

Our mission is twofold:
On the civilian side
, we build labeled 3D information layers from all types of sensors—powering smart cities, drones, autonomous vehicles, infrastructure monitoring, public safety, and far beyond.
On the defense side, we bring true real-time intelligence to the edge—anywhere, for any sensor, at any point on the map—enabling fast, informed, and decisive action in the field.

At Algolight, we combine everything that’s best in the civilian world—advanced technologies, open-minded thinking, freedom to innovate, and personal growth—with a bold vision: to become the company that enables AI to truly understand the world.
At the same time, we embrace the best of the defense world—missions with real meaning, a genuine sense of purpose, and the development of systems that save lives.

This is a rare combination of cutting-edge technology + deep impact + global vision + an innovative environment that pushes you to the highest professional levels.

We are now building a new team at the intersection of magnetics, signal processing, and AI, and are looking for a Team Lead who can drive research and development end to end, shape methodology, define technological direction, and deliver real breakthroughs on physical, real-world data.

🛠️ What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Establishing and leading an AI + Signal Processing team focused on magnetic sensing: mentoring, task ownership, R&D velocity, standards, and best practices.
  • End-to-end leadership of magnetic projects: research → proof of concept → integration → deployment into real operational systems.
  • Deep development of classical signal-processing algorithms for magnetic data: advanced filtering, spectral analysis (FFT / STFT / Wavelets), detection and estimation, tracking and filtering (Kalman / Particle where appropriate), denoising, normalization, and calibration—turning theory into robust, field-ready capabilities.
  • Building physical-data analysis pipelines in Python, using NumPy / SciPy, PyTorch, experimentation and reproducibility tools, statistical analysis, and large-scale data QA.
  • Designing deep-learning architectures for physical and time-series data: 1D CNNs, Transformers, temporal models, integration of physical priors, custom losses, and physics-informed regularization.
  • Systematic evaluation and benchmarking: performance metrics, error analysis, robustness to field conditions, drift, noise, environmental changes, and hardware constraints.
  • Close collaboration with system, edge, and physics teams—translating physical insight into deployable AI capabilities.
  • Strong cross-team collaboration with Algolight’s sensing and AI groups: multispectral, hyperspectral, seismic, radar, audio / microphone arrays, thermal, and more—building shared representations, cross-modal fusion, and methodologies that elevate all domains together.

✅ Requirements

  • BSc in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Systems Engineering, or a related field (MSc / PhD is a strong advantage).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in deep learning and signal processing on real-world data.
  • Strong expertise in classical algorithms: filtering, FFT / STFT, estimation, detection, time-series analysis, noise modeling, calibration / normalization, and physically grounded feature engineering.
  • Practical proficiency in Python (mandatory): NumPy / SciPy with deep hands-on experience in PyTorch; advantage for experience with experiment management and reproducibility tools (e.g., W&B, MLflow, DVC) and large-scale data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with physical / sensor data (magnetics is a significant advantage).
  • Proven experience leading people—mentoring, technical leadership, or hands-on team management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, excellent technical communication, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.

⭐ Strong Advantages

  • Experience with physical sensors beyond cameras (Magnetic / Seismic / Radar / Audio / Vibrometer / Multi- & Hyper-Spectral, etc.).
  • Experience with real-time or edge-AI systems and constraints (latency, power, memory).
  • Research-oriented MLOps experience: experiment tracking, reproducibility, model/data versioning, metrics, and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with pipeline integration (e.g., streaming, ROS2, GStreamer, deployment)—a plus, though the focus is on algorithmic and research depth.

🚀 What Awaits You at Algolight
