Medical Image Research Engineer
Medical Image Analysis Position in Academic Lab
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer in image analysis and AI to join the Breast Cancer Imaging Lab at Sheba Medical Center. This position is funded by the Israeli Cancer Research Fund (ICRF) for a two-year term.
The primary goal of this role is to develop an automated system for the detection and classification of suspicious breast lesions in MRI, followed by clinical validation. Research is based on cutting-edge solutions in medical imaging, including deep learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement advanced image analysis techniques and AI algorithms for the detection and classification of breast lesions in MRI.
- Collaborate with clinicians to integrate clinical and radiological data into the system.
- Summarize research findings in scientific papers, abstracts and reports.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a first degree in Engineering (e.g. Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related fields)
- Strong Python programming skills with experience in developing and implementing algorithms for image analysis and deep learning.
- A strong passion for academic research, with an interest in the medical field
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills with a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Academic writing skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and creativity in approaching research challenges
Position Details:
Junior-level part-time (50%) commitment within the Division of Diagnostics and Imaging, Sheba Medical Center.
