Perception Team Lead – Autonomy & Robotics
Our mission is twofold:
On the civilian side, we build labeled 3D information layers from all types of sensors—powering smart cities, drones, autonomous vehicles, infrastructure monitoring, public safety, and far beyond.
On the defense side, we bring true real-time intelligence to the edge—anywhere, for any sensor, at any point on the map—enabling fast, informed, and decisive action in the field.
At Algolight, we combine everything that’s best in the civilian world—advanced technologies, open-minded thinking, freedom to innovate, and personal growth—with a bold vision: to become the company that enables AI to truly understand the world.
At the same time, we embrace the best of the defense world—missions with real meaning, a genuine sense of purpose, and the development of systems that save lives.
This is a rare combination of cutting-edge technology + deep impact + global vision + an innovative environment that pushes you to the highest professional levels.
We’re looking for a Perception Team Lead who can lead people and technology—and who genuinely loves the blend of classical perception + deep learning + multi-sensor fusion.
🛠️ What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Leading the perception team: mentoring, technical direction, standards, R&D velocity, and delivery to field systems.
- Owning end-to-end perception capabilities: detection, segmentation, classification, tracking, change/anomaly cues, scene understanding, across video and non-video sensors.
- Multi-sensor fusion (early/mid/late fusion), temporal modeling, and cross-sensor alignment concepts—turning “sensor chaos” into stable perception.
- Building foundation models for perception: representations that transfer across sensor types and operating regimes (day/night, weather, altitude, terrain, motion, platform drift).
- Deep integration of classical algorithms: filtering, estimation, tracking, geometry, stereo/multi-view cues (where relevant), uncertainty modeling, and robustness engineering.
- Data strategy and standards: taxonomy, QA, benchmarking, error analysis, robustness tests, drift monitoring, and evaluation methodology.
- Close collaboration with autonomy, embedded/edge, and physical sensing teams (multispectral/hyperspectral/radar/thermal/seismic/audio/event/SAR).
✅ Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in perception / multi-sensor AI / robotics vision.
- Strong PyTorch + Python, and experience training/evaluating models on real-world messy data.
- Strong background in classical perception and estimation (not “deep learning only”).
- Proven leadership: team lead / tech lead / mentoring with real ownership.
⭐ Strong Advantages
- Real-time perception deployment (Jetson / edge constraints, streaming pipelines).
- Experience with tracking stacks (Kalman/Particle, association, multi-object tracking).
- Sensor fusion with radar/LiDAR/audio/seismic/hyperspectral—not just RGB video.
- Experience with dataset creation in hard domains (active learning, synthetic data, simulation, domain adaptation).
🚀 What Awaits You
- Ownership of perception direction across autonomy & robotics.
- Rare multi-modal datasets and real deployments.
- Fast growth: cross-domain work with top-tier sensing teams and major tech transfer opportunities.
💰 Excellent compensation.
