The Opportunity

As a Senior Data Engineer at Brandlight, you’ll be the backbone of our data infrastructure. You’ll design, build, and scale the pipelines and systems that support everything from LLM visibility insights to advanced analytics and model training. Your work will enable fast, reliable, and intelligent decision-making across the platform, product, and research teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain large-scale, end-to-end data pipelines covering ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers
• Design and optimize data models and schemas for both analytical workloads and ML training or inference pipelines
• Implement the full data lifecycle from ingestion to serving, including monitoring, lineage tracking, validation, and alerting to ensure data quality and reliability
• Optimize performance and cost through query tuning, partitioning strategies, indexing, and storage format selection
• Manage and scale BigQuery for high-throughput analytical workloads and orchestrate workflows using tools like Airflow
• Collaborate cross-functionally with platform, AI, and product teams to ensure the right data is available at the right time

Qualifications

Required:

• B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 6+ years of hands-on experience as a data or backend engineer
• Strong software engineering skills and proficiency in Python
• Strong SQL expertise including advanced query optimization
• Experience with big data frameworks (Spark, Flink, or similar)
• Hands-on experience managing and scaling data warehouses (BigQuery preferred)
• Experience building and maintaining data workflows using orchestration tools like Airflow
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Advantage:

• Experience working with LLMs, vector databases, or ML pipelines
• Familiarity with streaming data and real-time processing
• Background in data governance, observability, and cost optimization strategies
• Startup experience with end-to-end ownership of data infrastructure
