Senior Data Scientist, Product & Clinical Programs
About EyeContact
EyeContact builds software for early autism screening using eye-tracking and behavioral signal
analysis. Our platform processes pediatric behavioral data and generates clinically meaningful
insights for pediatricians and parents.
We are a digital health company building operator-free, AI-driven tools that turn behavioral data
into practical clinical workflows. Our work combines data science, product thinking, and
real-world clinical implementation.
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to lead the data science effort behind a new product
initiative in the autism care space.
This is not a narrow modeling role. You will be responsible both for developing the analytical and
ML approach, and for driving the project forward end-to-end: shaping the data strategy,
coordinating with external partners and internal stakeholders, defining next steps, and turning
ambiguity into a working product.
We are looking for someone with strong applied judgment, not someone whose experience is
limited to coursework or toy datasets. This role is for a person who has already built and
evaluated models on messy real-world data, dealt with imperfect labels and operational
constraints, and can independently move a complex project forward.
What You’ll Do
● Lead the data science work for a new product initiative from early concept through pilot and
iteration
● Define and build models for clinically meaningful progress measures using real-world data
● Work with data from EyeContact systems and external clinical assessment sources
● Build reproducible pipelines for data processing, modeling, evaluation, and monitoring
● Translate open-ended questions into concrete plans, priorities, and milestones
● Coordinate the work needed to get the project running across internal teams and external
partners
● Maintain clear documentation of decisions, assumptions, model versions, and next steps
● Support improvements to existing EyeContact products as capacity allows
● Handle sensitive data responsibly and follow company security and privacy practices
Required Qualifications
● 4+ years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, applied statistics, or a
related field
● Strong proficiency in Python and the standard DS/ML stack
● Proven experience building models from messy real-world data, not only clean benchmark
datasets
● Strong foundation in statistics, model evaluation, and experimental thinking
● Experience working with sensitive data and good judgment around data handling
● Ability to independently drive complex cross-functional projects
● Strong communication and documentation skills
● High ownership and follow-through
Advantages
● Experience in digital health, clinical data science, behavioral data, or healthcare analytics
● Experience with longitudinal data or outcome measurement
● Experience integrating multiple imperfect data sources
● Familiarity with AWS and production-oriented data workflows
● Experience in early-stage startups or small, fast-moving teams
What We Offer
● Opportunity to work on meaningful products with real clinical relevance
● A high-ownership role with influence on both product direction and execution
● Collaborative and high-trust environment
● Professional growth in a company building secure, high-impact systems
