Bread and butter
- Exploratory data analysis, data cleaning & processing – Perform data discoveries to understand data formats, source systems, file sizes, etc. and engage with business partners in this discovery process.
- Building ETL solutions with a strong understanding of ETL concepts and the ability to apply those concepts broadly across multiple technologies.
- Translating business requirements into actual solutions while maintaining a high level of accuracy and data integrity.
- Contributing to the core design of data architecture, data models and schemas, and implementation plan.
- Working with Analysts and Business Users to translate functional specifications into technical designs for implementation and deployment.
The checklist
- 3-5 years in a data engineering position.
- Demonstrated experience with multi-disciplinary teams & learning the science
- Very good understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, BI practices and concepts.
- Experience with programming in Python.
- experience with AWS data stack – EMR, Lambda, Athena , S3 ,Kinesis,CloudFormation.
- Experience with building data pipelines and using technologies both AWS , code (AirFlow) and no code solutions (Talend).
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts in production environment
- Team player, highly motivated, can-do approach.
Nice to have
- Experience with big data and ETL tools – Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, etc.
- Experience with data integration such as – geospatial datasets/GIS ,Weather ,IoT, etc.
- Experience with API & Data services.
- Familiarity with ML data pipelines technologies.
